Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Medfy mobile applications, website, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account, booking or providing services, or otherwise using Medfy, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

Medfy is a technology platform that connects patients and general users ("Patients") with independent, verified health professionals ("Health Professionals") who offer home visits and remote consultations. Medfy itself does not provide medical care and does not employ Health Professionals. Health Professionals act as independent providers.

2. Eligibility & accounts

2.1 Patients & general users

  • You must be at least 18 years old or use the Platform under the supervision of a legal guardian.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide when creating an account or booking.
  • You agree to keep your login details secure and not share your account with others.

2.2 Health Professionals

  • You confirm that you hold all required licenses, registrations, and approvals to practice in your jurisdiction.
  • You agree to provide accurate profile information and promptly update any changes (license status, address, contact details, etc.).
  • You remain solely responsible for the clinical decisions, advice, and care you provide through Medfy.

3. Use of the Platform

3.1 Acceptable use

  • Do not use Medfy for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
  • Do not attempt to interfere with, damage, or disrupt the Platform or its security.
  • Do not harass, abuse, or threaten Patients, Health Professionals, or Medfy staff.

3.2 Booking & cancellations (Patients)

  • When you place a booking, you agree to attend the appointment or cancel in line with any cancellation rules shown in the app.
  • No-shows or repeated last-minute cancellations may lead to temporary or permanent account restrictions.
  • Emergency or life-threatening conditions should always be directed to local emergency services, not Medfy.

3.3 Service delivery (Health Professionals)

  • You are responsible for arriving on time or communicating promptly if you are delayed or must cancel.
  • You must provide services in line with professional standards, local regulations, and your scope of practice.
  • You must maintain appropriate professional indemnity/medical malpractice insurance where required.

4. Payments

Medfy facilitates payments (e.g. via mobile money or card) between Patients and Health Professionals. Fees, charges, and any applicable commissions or service fees will be displayed in the app before you confirm a booking. By confirming a booking, you authorize Medfy's payment partners to process the relevant amounts.

5. No medical or emergency service

Medfy is not a hospital, clinic, or emergency response service. The Platform is a technology tool that connects you to independent Health Professionals. For emergencies or life-threatening situations, always call your local emergency number or go to the nearest health facility immediately.

6. Ratings, reviews & communication

Patients may leave ratings and reviews about their experience. Reviews must be fair, respectful, and based on genuine experiences. Medfy may remove reviews that are abusive, discriminatory, or clearly false. Medfy may monitor in-app chat for safety and support reasons as allowed by law.

7. Data protection & privacy (summary)

Medfy handles personal and health-related information with care and in line with applicable data protection laws (for example, Ghana's Data Protection Act and any other relevant regulations). We explain in detail how we collect, use, store, and share data in our Privacy Policy.

  • We collect only the data we need to operate, improve, and secure the Platform.
  • Access to sensitive data is restricted to authorized personnel and Health Professionals who need it to provide care.
  • We use technical and organizational measures (encryption, access controls, logging) to help protect your data.

8. Intellectual property

Medfy owns or licenses all rights in the Platform, including its brand, design, text, and software. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Platform except as allowed by law or these Terms.

9. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Medfy if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, misused the Platform, or created safety or fraud risks for others. You may close your account at any time through the app or by contacting us.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the app, email, or our website. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
